Autumn Term

Our learning this term:

• History – Great Fire of London & The Gunpowder Plot
• RE - Hinduism – The story of Rama and Sita & Christianity – The Christmas story
• Art – Art around the world
• DT - Puppets

 

Homework

Homework will be set on a Friday and will be due the following Wednesday. There will be spellings to learn and an English or maths task to do. Spellings will be tested on Friday. Some maths homework will be set on DoodleMaths. If your child is unsure of their login details, please contact their class teacher.

There will also be an optional extra piece to complete, which again will be English or maths-based. Occasionally, we will set project work which the children will have longer to complete. Each child will have a homework booklet which will contain their spellings and homework for the half-term.

 

P.E.

In order to take part in P.E lessons, children must have the correct kit. This is a ‘Harlyn’ PE T-shirt & blue shorts or a dark-coloured tracksuit for when the weather is colder. Plimsolls/Trainers are also required. Please make sure all kit is named, including shoes.

Reading

The children should read daily, and it should be recorded in their reading records. Daily reading to an adult is so important and has a huge impact on the progress that they make with their reading. Reading books will be changed approx. 3 times per week.

 

Library

We will visit the library once per week. Children will only be able to take out a new book if they return their current one.
